In Jewish tradition

"It is written" in the Torah means set down in God's book, the Torah, and so it has authority. "The book" can also mean God's record of those who are His. The Prophets also mention lost books such as the book of Jashar, and Job wishes his words were written down.

Interpretation. The tradition calls the Torah "the Written Torah" and the oral teaching the "Oral Torah". "Blot me out of Your book" is read as Moses offering his own life for Israel.
