In Jewish tradition

In the Torah, God "opening the womb" means giving a woman children. In Job the womb is also where people are formed, and a place from which even ice is said to come.

Interpretation. Tradition says God alone controls birth. Job's words, "did not One fashion us in the womb?", are read as saying that God made rich and poor alike.
