thundering
noun
In Jewish tradition
In Exodus, the thunderings are one of the plagues on Egypt, and at Mount Sinai they are among the awesome signs that accompany God's voice.
Interpretation. Tradition sees the thunder at Sinai as part of the revelation of the Torah, when the people trembled at God's presence. The thunder in Egypt shows God's power over nature, which Pharaoh must acknowledge.
