tetragrammaton
noun
In Jewish tradition
It is the holy name of God that Jews do not say aloud, and the Torah prints it as "the LORD".
Interpretation. Tradition treats it as God's most sacred name, read aloud as "Adonai" instead, and Sefer Yetzirah commentators play with permutations of its letters.
