In Jewish tradition

Moses wrote a song to teach the people so they would remember the covenant. In the Psalms, "a Song" is a heading for many psalms, sung in worship with music, and the Song of Songs is a whole book of love poetry.

Interpretation. Tradition reads these songs as ways to keep the people's memory alive, and the Song at the Sea is sung in prayers to this day. The Levites sang psalms in the Temple, and the rabbis called the Song of Songs the holiest of songs.
