In Jewish tradition

In the Tanakh to slide is to lose one's footing. Psalms say that of a person who keeps God's law in his heart, none of his steps slide, meaning he stays steady and safe.

Interpretation. The tradition reads this as teaching that holding God's Torah in the heart keeps a person from falling into wrong.
