In Jewish tradition
A shaven head or beard also shows mourning, as when Moab's heads are bald and every beard is shaven. Samson's seven locks were shaven off, and his strength left him.
Interpretation. In the skin disease laws, a person with a scall is shaved except for the diseased patch, so the priest can see whether it spreads. Samson's shaven hair is read as the sign of his Nazirite promise being broken.
