In the lessons

Everyday: send a text, send an email, send a card, send a parcel, send someone home. Safety: never send photos or your address to strangers online. In maths it is an action that moves things from one person to another: things sent leave the sender (subtract) and reach the receiver (add). Phrases: send back, send off, send out, send away.

Examples

  • She sends 5 texts a day. tree →
  • He sent 12 cards to his friends. tree →

Note

Irregular: send, sent, sent (not «sended»). Things sent leave the sender (subtract) and reach the receiver (add). «A day» or «each week» marks a rate: total = rate × days or weeks. Trap: none. «Sent» sounds like «cent» and «scent».
