In the lessons

In health and safety, prescribed medicine is only for the person it was given to, and only at the prescribed dose. In exams the formal sense appears: «use the prescribed method» or «within the prescribed time». Phrases: prescribed medicine, prescribed dose, as prescribed.

In Jewish tradition

Prescribed means set or fixed. God "prescribed" a limit for the sea, and the psalmist speaks of a book written for him.

Interpretation. God's setting limits for the sea shows His rule over nature. The psalmist's roll is read as the Torah that is written for each person.
