perverseness

In Jewish tradition

In Balaam's blessing it means moral crookedness or trouble; God sees none of it in Israel.

Interpretation. Commentators read this as praise of Israel: God does not look closely for their faults, or the verse means no wrongdoing is found that cannot be forgiven.
