null
adjective
In Jewish tradition
Here it describes a vow that a husband cancels so it has no power; "null and void" means completely cancelled.
Interpretation. The law of vows in Numbers 30 lets a father or husband cancel a vow only on the day he hears of it. If he stays silent, the vow stands, and if he cancels it late, he bears the guilt.
