microcosm
noun
In Jewish tradition
In Sefer Yetzirah it means the human body and soul, which are seen as a small copy of the universe (the macrocosm).
Interpretation. Jewish mystics read the book as saying that the world, the year and the human body all match each other. They taught that understanding one helps you understand the others.
