After a number, hundred has no -s: «three hundred», not «three hundreds»; but «hundreds of birds». British English says «a hundred and five», American often «a hundred five». Read «three hundred» as 300. Trap: «hundreds of» without a number means «many», not an exact amount; «the hundreds place» asks for a digit, not the value (in 452 the digit is 4, the value is 400).
