In Jewish tradition
"Furnish liberally" means to give generously, supplying a freed servant with a share of one's flock, grain and wine. In Jeremiah, "furnish thyself" means to get ready, packing one's belongings to go into exile.
Interpretation. The law teaches that when a Hebrew servant goes free, the master must send him away with generous gifts, so he does not leave empty-handed. Jeremiah's words warn Egypt that it will not escape but must prepare for captivity.
Examples
