In Jewish tradition

The fourteenth day of the first month is the day of the Passover offering, at dusk.

Interpretation. Tradition keeps Passover on this date: the Passover lamb was killed and eaten that evening, and a "second Passover" on the fourteenth of the second month was allowed for those who could not keep it in time.
