In Jewish tradition
Here it is the front of the head where a skin disease called leprosy might appear. Hair loss there did not make a person unclean. The prophets also use it for boldness: a "hard" forehead means a stubborn or shameless face, or a firm and brave one.
Interpretation. The law of the priest examining skin signs is read by tradition as a rule of ritual purity, not a medical one. Only the priest could declare a person clean or unclean. God makes Ezekiel's forehead hard as a diamond so he can face a rebellious people, while Jeremiah uses "a harlot's forehead" for shamelessness.
