In Jewish tradition

It means having no blemish. The red heifer must be perfect and never have worn a yoke.

Interpretation. The red heifer is called a "chok," a law without a stated reason. Tradition says its ashes purified people made unclean by contact with the dead, though it made the priests who prepared it unclean.
