ephah
noun
In Jewish tradition
It was the standard measure for grain and flour offerings, and an omer was a tenth of it. Ephah is also a son of Midian.
Interpretation. The law demanded a "just ephah," so the measure stood for honest dealing in trade, and the Rabbis taught that cheating with measures was a serious sin.
