entrenched
adjective
In Jewish tradition
It means a besieged or fortified city, as in the Psalm. God shows kindness even when a person is shut in with enemies all around.
Interpretation. Commentators suggest the psalmist felt as if hemmed in, and found God's care in the tight place. The verse is read as thanks for rescue in danger.
