In Jewish tradition
In the Torah it can mean led astray, as when people are drawn away to worship other gods, or having a sword pulled out of its sheath. In the Prophets it also means pulled or taken away, as babies drawn from the breast, a body dragged out, or people "drawn unto death."
Interpretation. Being drawn to other gods is the great sin the Torah warns against, and a false prophet or town that leads people astray is treated very severely. Proverbs is read as a command to rescue people led to death.
