In Jewish tradition

Sefer Yetzirah says God shared the letters among the seven planets and the twelve constellations, giving each a place in the world. In Joshua it also means that Moses shared out the land as inheritances to the tribes east of the Jordan.

Interpretation. Sefer Yetzirah sees order in how God shares out the letters. In Joshua, tradition reads the sharing out of the land as fair and guided by God.
