«dishwasher» in the English dictionary: everyday — its meanings, how the lessons use it, and examples, each with its tree on Mova.

Everyday

  1. A machine in the kitchen that washes plates, cups, cutlery and pans with hot water and soap. tree →
  2. A person whose job is washing dishes, for example in a restaurant. tree →

In the lessons

In everyday life, children help by loading and emptying the dishwasher: dirty dishes face the water spray, knives go point down for safety, and plastic goes on the top rack. In safety lessons: dishwasher tablets and liquid are dangerous to swallow and must be kept away from small children; do not open a dishwasher during its cycle because of hot steam. In science, it uses hot water and detergent to remove grease and germs. Phrases: "load the dishwasher", "empty/unload the dishwasher", "dishwasher-safe", "put it on" (start it).

Examples

  • Please load your plate into the dishwasher. tree →
  • I empty the dishwasher every morning. tree →
  • Put the knives in point down. tree →
  • Is this cup dishwasher-safe? tree →
