In Jewish tradition
In the Torah, dipping is a part of the offering ritual. The priest dips his finger in blood and sprinkles it before the veil. Asher "dipping his foot in oil" is a picture of rich olive land.
Interpretation. The sprinkling of blood seven times is read as a rite of purifying and making holy the sanctuary. Oil is a sign of blessing, and Asher's land was known for its olives.
