coriander
noun
In Jewish tradition
It is the plant that the manna, the food from heaven in the desert, is compared to, because of its small round shape and whitish color.
Interpretation. The comparison hints that the manna was small and plain to look at but tasted of whatever the eater wished, as the rabbis taught.
