Examples

Note

Cool is less cold than cold. For burns, use cool water, not ice. "Cool" as slang is informal; in a school report use "great" or "excellent".

In Jewish tradition

Here it means the cooler, breezy part of the day, toward evening, when God walks in the garden. In Judges it describes a cool upper room, a pleasant place to escape the heat.

Interpretation. Some commentators read "the wind of the day" as the evening breeze, and see the scene as God's presence moving through the garden just as Adam and Eve hide in shame. The cool chamber is where King Eglon was killed by Ehud.
