In Jewish tradition

In the Song at the Sea, the deeps became solid in the heart of the sea, so the waters stood like walls. In Job, God's power makes waters hard like stone with ice.

Interpretation. The Sages read the Song at the Sea as one of the great miracles, where the water was held firm so Israel could pass through. Job shows God as master of nature, who freezes the deep.
