buttocks

noun

«buttocks» in the English dictionary: in Jewish tradition — its meanings, how the lessons use it, and examples, each with its tree on Mova.

In Jewish tradition

In both verses it means a shameful, forced exposure. It is a way of humiliating prisoners and messengers.

Interpretation. The shaving of David's envoys is read as a deep insult to his honor, and so it led to war. Isaiah warns that Egypt's proud power will end in public shame.
