In Jewish tradition

In the Torah the word is used for making cities, altars and houses, and sometimes for founding a family or a people.

Interpretation. The rabbis noticed that Rachel and Leah are said to have "built" the house of Israel, and so building can mean raising a family and a nation, not only making walls.
