brutish
adjective
In Jewish tradition
It means lacking understanding and moral sense, like a beast. It is a person who will not learn and who hates correction.
Interpretation. The Psalm shows a person who admits he was brutish before God, which tradition takes as honest humility. Proverbs links the word to hating reproof, as the opposite of wisdom.
