assuage
verb
In Jewish tradition
It is used for calming a king's anger, as with Ahasuerus, or for easing grief, as Job's friends ought to have done.
Interpretation. Tradition reads Ahasuerus' calmed anger as part of the Purim story, where God's hand is hidden. Job's words show that real comfort needs kind words and not empty ones.
