In the lessons

Note

Very formal; everyday: «shared out», «divided». In maths: «apportioned equally» = divide the total by the number of people (60 ÷ 5 = 12 each); «apportioned in the ratio 1:2» = split into 3 parts, one gets 1 part, the other 2 parts (20 and 40).
