alienated
adjective
In Jewish tradition
God's "soul" being alienated means He pulls away in disgust from Jerusalem and from unfaithful Oholah and Oholibah, who stand for Samaria and Jerusalem. It is a warning that He may leave a people who leave Him.
Interpretation. The prophets use this picture of a broken marriage to show that God's love is real and that Israel's faithlessness really hurts the relationship. The warning is meant to make the people return.
