In Jewish tradition
Genesis tells that Adam lived 930 years, was clothed by God after the sin in Eden, and was the father of the human line.
Interpretation. The rabbis note that "Adam" is linked with "adamah," earth, teaching humility. Tradition sees all people as descended from one ancestor, so no one can say "my father was greater than yours."
