In Jewish tradition
Judah's open admission, "She is more righteous than I," is a key moment of confessing wrongdoing. David says he acknowledged his sin and was forgiven.
Interpretation. The rabbis praise Judah for admitting the truth publicly even though it shamed him, and see in it a reason why kingship came from his line. In Sefer Yetzirah, it means that the Creator is recognized as King. The psalm is read as teaching that honest confession brings forgiveness.
