In Jewish tradition

The Psalms ask God to accept burnt offerings and "freewill-offerings of my mouth", meaning words of praise. Araunah's blessing "the LORD thy God accept thee" wishes the king God's favor.

Interpretation. The rabbis taught that an offering is accepted only if given with the right heart and in the right way. They read the psalmist's "offerings of my mouth" as prayer taking the place of sacrifice.
