The whole BDB entry

n.[m.] something in front, spec. an attacking-engine (cf. قُبُلٌ front; ܐܰܩܒܶܠ, advance to attack, so הקביל Ecclus 12:5), Ez 26:9 מְחִי קָֽבֳלּוֹ the stroke of his attacking-engine (on the form ḳobolló, from קְבֹל for ḳŭbŭl, see Ol§ 169 Köii. 68 f.; and cf. קָֽטֳנִּי from קְטֹן for ḳŭṭŭn, קָֽטָבְךָ, קָֽרָבְכֶם; and on the בֳ, Ges§ 93q). cstr. קָֽבָל־עָם 2 K 15:10, explained formerly as before the people, i.e. publicly (cf. Biblical Aramaic קֳבֵל before); but the Aramaic is surprising, and הָעָם needed: read בְּיִבְלְעָם in Ibleam, with 𝔊L (confirming earlier conj. of GrG ii. 1. 99 StaGi. 575), Dr Klo Benz Kit al.
