The whole BDB entry

n.[m.] acquisition, possession (?; meaning conject. from context, from analogy of מִמְשָׁק q.v., and of משׁך), only וּבֶן־מֶשֶׁק בֵּיתִי הוּא דַּמֶּשֶׂק אֱלִיעֶזֶר Gn 15:2 (cf. בן 8 (λ), supr. p. 121 b; Ges§ 128, 2, R. 2. c) and the son of acquisition (= he who is to acquire, the heir of) my house is, etc.; מ׳ poss. changed from משׁך (cf. Jb 28:18) for word-play with דמשׂק, Kau and So Gn. Anm. 62, or by copyist’s error, but very dubious. 𝔊 Μασεκ (n.pr., cf. LagBN 78).
